Classroom MACRO Plan      I teach grades 6-8 Mathematics.  At each grade level, the curriculum is 100% Texas Essential Skills and Knowledge (TEKS) aligned.  My goal in teaching math is to build a strong mathematics foundation and understanding that is essential for success in high school mathematics courses.

Grading and Late Work Practices    I follow the district grading policy.  For late work, at a minimum, I follow the district late work policy; however, I realize that there are extenuating circumstances and I will often accept late work after the due date.  Accepting late work beyond the district policy is at teacher discretion.

Re-teach Practices     I utilize every opportunity I can to re-teach and review when individuals or classes struggle with specific math concepts or skills.  There is re-teach in the classroom everyday.  Additional re-teach opportunities are available during tutorials from 3-4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday.  Students also may have opportunities to improve their grades on daily assignments and lessons.  Improving a grade can be accomplished by doing extra math practice problems and/or supplemental math lessons that have not been assigned for a grade to the entire class.   (To improve your math skills, you must do math.  To improve your math grade, you must do math.)   A student’s failure to appropriately study or prepare for an assignment or test does not entitle them to re-teach opportunities.  The teacher has sole discretion on which grades/assignments are re-taught and when opportunities are available to improve the grade.
